![]() With the potential of twice as many couples marrying this year, and still only 26 weekends in the year couples may find that a Saturday celebration isn’t feasible in 2021 and 2022. But this shouldn’t be a source of sorrow- weekday weddings are growing in popularity for a variety of reasons, even prior to the pandemic. Based on 2018 Real Weddings study, one in five couples choose to say I do on a weekday. As a wedding professional who saw nearly their entire 2020 calendar postpone to 2021, I know I am becoming a fan of the weekday affair. And here are some reasons why...

![]() In a world where no day has gone as expected, staying up to date on changes to your wedding has never been more important. From postponing, to a venue changes, to drastically cutting your guest list, couples planning their nuptials in 2020 have seen it all. And successful couples (aka the ones that got hitched during a pandemic) can tell you that a wedding website is a key to keeping your guests informed. For starters, there are several reputable and free options to choose from from Minted, Zola, and The Knot. But really, any wedding site offers some version of a free page (yep, we offer one too!) Regardless of the host you choose, the benefits of creating are endless. When choosing your host we recommend keeping these must haves: Click and Drag Easy! - Look for pages that let you click and drag content. But if you’re a pro, look Updates should be simple and offer designs that fit well with your aesthetic. RSVP Options- An online RSVP for guests to complete online- and edit after submitting! Easy Linking- Options to link to a registry are a given, usually, but look for options that include links to your venue or photographer. Your wedding planner will love you dearly if you can link your day of timeline to your page! ![]() Once you’ve picked your platform, it’s time to share all the details. And we love the details. Not sure of what to share? Starters should always be the who, what, where, and when of the wedding date and the RSVP. Everything is just icing on the cake… But our favorite things to see are: Pictures! - With most wedding photographers offering engagement sessions this is a great way to share them! Accommodations - beyond just your hotel room block, offer a listing of Airbnb or VRBO options for guests with unexpected vacation time to use who want to extend their time in the area. Ride Shares - Especially for destination weddings, consider delegating a person to contact or creating a shared spreadsheet where guests can coordinate traveling to and from their flight and accommodations. All The Celebrations - Share the details of the showers, bachelorette/bachelor parties (the SFW details), welcome cocktails, and rehearsal dinner. Your Dream Team - Share the details of not only your bridal party. Guests will love to hear how you met your bridal party. We highly recommend including fun facts about each person, too! Your Vendor Team - We especially love this for couples who hire a planner or coordinator (*cough* highly recommended!) Why? Friends and family may want to plan a little surprise for the couple and knowing who to contact about logistics will make the surprise even better. Attire - Provide the details and for those still unsure we think your guests will get a laugh out some visual aids. Intimidated by technology? Enlist the help of a tech-savvy friend or better yet ((shameless plug alert)), hire a wedding planner to help design and update your page. A planner can also help you find clever and effective ways to get your guests to use your page for all the latest information. ![]() November 1st rings in the season of thanks and we want to take a minute to express how grateful we are to not only our past and current clients but also the amazing professionals we have teamed up with over these many years. So there seems no better time to dive into the many ways you can show gratitude when planning your wedding celebration.
![]() Why Hello Lovelies, Do you remember the movie Bride Wars? It's been ten years since it opened in theaters and audiences watched, with bated breath, as BFF’s Liv and Emma (Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway) descended into madness as they battled each other for their “dream wedding”. Liv and Emma's experience of their friendship being nearly destroyed by wedding planning happens more often than people like to chat about. So what is the best way to keep a friendship healthy, in such a dysfunctional situation as sharing the same wedding date? Glad you asked… ![]() Hello Lovelies, Last week I promised alternatives to booking vendors by attending bridal shows. Undoubtedly, bridal shows are one of the most popular ways. But, it’s easy to see how bridal shows may not be for everyone, considering all the work involved. Sure it seems simple enough, all you will have to do is: ![]() Happy New Year! With all of the positive energy associated with the dawning of the new year, how can one not be enthusiastic for what the next 365 days will bring? But perhaps this year, more than most, I want to share this excitement with the world. Late 2018, I did something I longed to do- launch AssortedArtistries.com. This marks the beginning of the next chapter of keeping the celebration of life’s many wondrous events. Not only will AssortedArtistries.com let me share with the world all of the services we offer, it can also allow our clients to share with their family and friends about the celebration. |
